Something's fishy in Eeltown

Eeltown is a fast paced dark comedy about power, greed, lust, vengeance, and the struggle for emancipation from oppression. The time is present day, and the story revolves around the search for Al Capone’s lost fortune, supposedly hidden in Eeltown.

The two main characters, who are on a collision course, are dangerous men, previously unknown to each other. One of these men always gets his own way, and the other is used to being told what to do by his employers and the women in his life, but no one else.

Persons from various economic levels interact and enter into competition and conflict with each other. Although the results of these encounters are sometimes deadly, they are interspersed with humorous occurrences, mimicking real life.

Eeltown is a mystery written in the comedy/drama style that embodies relationships forged of convenience, fear, desperation, and true love.

The utilization of a visual type of writing lends a realistic air to the descriptive portions of the work. Strategically placed Italian slang and Spanish words are easily understood due to unobtrusive explanations incorporated as part of the dialogue. This style of writing provides a rendering that is authentic to the locale.

While Eeltown possesses a surprise ending, issues are resolved with believable and satisfying conclusions. 

The text contains thought provoking dialogue and narratives that will appeal to the more discerning and intellectual minded. The book is, however, written in an easy to follow, easy to understand manner. Eeltown will therefore be appropriate for the casual reader of escape literature as pure entertainment.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Lovers of comedy, romance, adventure, mystery, and justice will enjoy Eeltown. The book should be well received generally in the Eastern United States by readers of young adult age and those born just before and during the Baby Boom.

Eeltown should be especially successful in the high population centers of New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles, as well as the many other areas where large numbers of Italian-Americans reside.

Certainly any reader acquainted with the Jersey Shore, either subjectively, or via television or the movies, will be drawn to Eeltown.
