| Yes it does happen from time to time! Of course the nearby ski area on Mount Charleston, at about 8000' elevation, has snow all winter but occasionally it also hits the streets of Vegas. It melts pretty fast, even at Red Rock, but if you get out there quickly enough you can capture it on film. These images were taken on 12/30/03.
RED ROCK- Near the end of the scenic loop.
Red Rock- The highest point in the park, 4771' elevation. Some kids built small snowmen here and there along the scenic route. Nice to see that kids still do these things.
Closeup of snowmen. There were scores of visitors this day, both locals and tourists, and these little guys had their picture taken hundreds of times.
View to the west along Charleston Blvd. just outside of Red Rock Canyon National Conservatory Area.
Near the end of the scenic route. That little bit of clumpy snow is another snowman.
Da Hood- where I live. No snow shovels needed here but they were in use on The Strip earlier in the day.
Across the street in Da Hood. You don't usually see snow and palm trees together, but anything is possible in Vegas.
 Warm and toasty inside!
